House Guide
Karyn and Glen welcome you to BMS. We've put a great deal of energy and thought into creating the type of unique vibe that we appreciate when we travel. Being an Artist/Designer, Glen created all the art and even designed and installed all the rustic wood planks throughout the house. Our goal was to design an eclectic home that features Rustic, Industrial and Modern features, characteristics that reflect the unique charm of the Black Mountain and Asheville region.
We hope that after staying at BMS, you will want to make it your preferred short term rental in Black Mountain and recommend it to your family and friends. We Cherish loyal renters and offer discounts to returning guests.

The Front door has a digital keypad. We will provide you with a code prior to reservation. When locking the door from the outside simply tap the Lock icon. You may have to simultaneously pull the door shut.
COFFEE:
If you are a coffee lover, we provide both a Nespresso machine as well as a fresh drip coffee maker. As a courtesy, several Nespresso pods are provided for free, but you’ll want to bring your own pods to ensure you have a fresh cup throughout the duration of your stay.
KITCHEN:
We invite you to cook all your favorite meals while staying at BMS. We provided a fully stocked Kitchen for your culinary needs. Just remember to clean up and place your dishes in the dishwasher. We would appreciate if you can run the dishwasher when leaving BMS.

YoutubeTV is available on both the Smart TV’s. Simply navigate to YoutubeTV (or your favorite pay app), under “Live” you can scroll down to find your favorite channels. Volume switch is on the side of remote.
PETS:
You are allowed to bring one dog under 25 lbs. There is a crate located in the Master closet, this can be moved to any part of the house. Please be careful when removing it from the closet, it's a tight squeeze. Please be respectful of BMS, the neighbors and the community. If your dog tends to bark when alone, then please don't leave it alone. There should be extra poop bags on one of the coat hooks by the front door. You can dispose of the poop in the container located in the garage. The three ring cameras are located by all three entrances, so please don't try to deceive us by bringing larger or more than one dog.
THERMOSTAT:
Your comfort is our priority. There are two Nest thermostats in BMS. To adjust the temperature, simply tap and drag the outer right side of the Nest. Please note that we do have the ability to monitor the temperature and in rare cases, we will reset the temperature if they are being set at unrealistic levels.
FIREPLACES:
There are two fireplace, for the inside unit use the light switch on the right side of that wall. This unit is protected by glass, which will get very hot, so please do not touch the glass. There is a blower in this unit that will stay on for several minutes after the unit is shut off. Turn on the Outside Fireplace using the remote control which should be found on the Fireplace (via a magnet). Don’t forget to turn off both Fireplace's before leaving house.
SAFETY FIRST:
• When leaving through the front door, there is a step down onto the driveway. Leave front lights on via the light switch in the garage so this step is visible at night.
• There is a safety kit located in the kitchen, next to the sink. This contains basic elements such as band aids and gauze pads. For more severe injuries there is Range Urgent Care in Black Mountain and Mission Hospital in Asheville.
• Fireplace will get hot when turned on, do not touch the fireplaces
or surrounding areas.
SECURITY CAMERAS:
There are three Security Cameras. The Ring doorbell at the front door captures everyone entering via this door. One inside the garage, facing the garage door. The other is in the Sunroom facing the outer screen door. This camera is turned quite a bit so the vast majority of its focus ends at the outside screen door. As currently configured, the
chair closest to the fireplace is visible on this camera. Once you arrive, we will shut off this camera. Please note that we will be monitoring all cameras for large pets or more than one pet, and you will be subject to a fine and bad reviews if you break our rules.
ON-GOING CONSTRUCTION:
Our development, Sweet Birch Commons, still has several houses under construction further down the road from BMS. Therefore there may be some noticeable sounds and noises from the construction. Most of the time, the noise levels are not very disturbing, but they may disturbing to sensitive ears. Probably the most noticeable noises are from the trucks delivering goods in the morning.
SUN ROOM:
It's very important that you don't leave any food in the Sun Room, there are Bears in the area with a very keen sense of smell. We don't want them visiting the Sunroom. Please shut off the Fireplace when leaving the Sun Room. The windows slide up and down via latches on the perimeter of the windows. The windows contains a flexible vinyl glaze. Although very strong, please be careful about using any sharp item that can potentially puncture the vinyl.
LIGHT SWITCHES:
Lights located on the fans are controlled by the round buttons on the light switches. To dim these lights, press and hold small round button for about 3 seconds. To brighten the lights, press and hold the larger round button for 3 seconds.
HOA:
We are located in a community with an HOA (Home Owners Association). We ask that you respect not only our house, but our neighbors privacy as well as the community property. You are welcome to use the Common Area which contains a grill, fire pit and several Adirondack chairs. There are community utensils you can use, but please clean and return them when you are finished grilling. If you are hanging out in this area in the evening, please monitor your volume.
